My family runs a nearly 40-year-old company that focuses on the development and production of dyes. Our products are sold all over the world. My parents have witnessed and deeply participated in the development of the dye industry. During my study abroad at Oxford University and Cambridge University, I observed that dyes in the downstream textile industry caused serious pollution to the environment. Taking China as an example, the annual discharge of textile wastewater is about 2.5 billion tons, which is equivalent to the water volume of about 230 West Lakes. Among them, printing and dyeing wastewater accounts for 2 billion tons, and the energy consumption and resource consumption are extremely alarming. Traditional dyeing processes not only put tremendous pressure on the environment, but the rigidity of the supply chain also fails to meet consumers' growing demands for environmental protection and transparent supply chains.
To meet these challenges, I decided to develop a more environmentally friendly dyeing technology. Our team combined advanced digital technology and special equipment, and after many experiments and optimizations, we finally successfully developed the Textile Digital Smart Dyeing (TDSD®️) technology. At present, our team has applied for more than 80 intellectual property rights, including 11 invention patents.
