Huanyu Technology Receives Resource Efficiency Certification from SGS

On November 6, 2024, at the site of the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE), SGS together with Huanyu Technology held a ceremony to award the Resource Efficiency Verification Statement. Dr. Andy Tao, CEO of Huanyu Technology, Dr. An Wang, SGS Global Associate Director of Technology, and other guests attended the event and witnessed Huanyu Technology's key step towards sustainability in the textile industry.

The TDSD® dyeing process independently developed by Huanyu Technology has been verified by SGS as being able to reduce 98.74% of water, 84.40% of energy consumption, and 21.35% of chemical use in the dyeing process, directly reducing carbon emissions and pollutant emissions. Through this rigorous third-party validation, the TDSD® process has been recognized for its environmental and resource efficiency, further enhancing the brand reputation and market position of Huanyu Technology in the industry. More importantly, this validation also sets an effective example for the low-carbon transformation of the textile supply chain, which will help guide more counterparts to make innovations and improvements in green development, thus promoting the development of the entire industry in the direction of a low-carbon and transparent supply chain.

Representatives of both Dr. Andy Tao, CEO of Huanyu Technology, and Dr. An Wang, Associate Director of Global Technology of SGS, attended the certification ceremony and were interviewed by China Securities Journal.

Dr. Andy Tao said that with the increasing global focus on environmental protection and sustainability, the TDSD® process plays a central role in enhancing the environmental performance and market competitiveness of the textile supply chain. As a smart dyeing process with high resource efficiency, TDSD® technology is effective in reducing water consumption, energy consumption and pollution emissions, which not only helps brands meet consumer demand for environmental protection, but also enhances the responsiveness and flexibility of the supply chain to adapt to diversified and individualized market demands. In such a fast-changing market environment, TDSD® technology gives brands a significant competitive advantage in terms of green compliance, supply chain transparency and brand image, providing consumers with guaranteed sustainable products.

Dr. An Wang said that according to the requirements of ISO 14021, environmental claims issued by companies must be verifiable, non-misleading and accurate in order to minimize market confusion and facilitate international trade. SGS validated the TDSD® Dyeing process of Huanyu Technology according to the requirements of ISO 14021, and conducted a resource-efficiency assessment of the new production process in accordance with the scientific methodology and standards. Enterprises can make accurate and credible environmental statements based on the validation data and evaluation results, which will help gain recognition from customers and the market, and accelerate the rapid implementation and popularization of the new dyeing technology in the supply chain.

As an internationally recognized testing, inspection and certification organization, SGS has launched new sustainability solutions globally, which can provide comprehensive services to enterprises in a variety of areas such as climate change, biodiversity, circular economy, ESG assurance, etc., and help enterprises to verify their environmental claims and sustainability data.
